Novo Nordisk has received the award for the best Danish sustainability report in year 2000. The award was given by the Danish financial newspaper Børsen and the Danish Association of State-authorised Public Accountants.

Lise Kingo, head of Stakeholder Relations, received the award from Steen Gade, Director General of the Danish Environmental Protection Agency.

The award for the sustainability report follows a number of other awards given to Novo Nordisk's reporting in recent years. Having won the Green Accounting Award in Denmark three years in a row, Novo Nordisk was excluded from the competition in advance in 1999 -- as stated in the jury's grounds -- to give other companies a chance of winning.

However, this year Børsen and the Danish Association of State-authorised Public Accountants launched a new award for the best sustainability report and gave it to Novo Nordisk.
